Kaori Oto, Psychotherapist

About Me

I want a loving relationship for myself and wish that for you too. Relationships bring out the best and worst of ourselves and can create emotional roller coasters. It is complicated and each couple brings a unique challenge. I want to know you and listen to your stories.

In addition to couple’s work, I embrace working with individuals with identity issues because of the color of skin, sexuality, gender, age or family background. I view problematic behaviors including anxiety and depression as an adapted solution to trauma, a painful past. This should be honored and can be re-learned.

Lastly, I am a bicultural and bilingual therapist, and believe love and resiliency are universal. My family name, Oto, means a big door, in Japanese. I am proud of being who I am and I welcome all people.
